What is a D4S bulb?+

The D4S is a 35 W, 12 V automotive bulb with a P32d-5 base. It’s also sold as 66440 and 42402.

Is the D4S the same as the D1S?+

No. Even if they look alike, each size has a different base (P32d-5 on the D4S) and won’t fit another size’s socket. Always buy the exact size your car takes.

What vehicles use a D4S bulb?+

Among others, the Toyota Camry XV50 and Toyota Sienna XL30. The full list, with the position each one uses it for, is on this page.

Can I replace a D4S with an LED?+

No. Xenon (HID) headlights are designed for gas-discharge bulbs; LED conversion kits for D-series bulbs are not DOT compliant.
