What is a D8S bulb?+

The D8S is a 25 W, 12 V automotive bulb with a PK32d-1 base. It’s also sold as 66548X.

Is the D8S the same as the D2R?+

No. Even if they look alike, each size has a different base (PK32d-1 on the D8S) and won’t fit another size’s socket. Always buy the exact size your car takes.

Can I replace a D8S with an LED?+

No. Xenon (HID) headlights are designed for gas-discharge bulbs; LED conversion kits for D-series bulbs are not DOT compliant.
