Which H11 to buy: standard, brighter or long life
- Standard: the OEM-equivalent replacement. The cheapest option and the longest lasting.
- Brighter (+100% to +200%): they throw more light, farther down the road (Philips RacingVision, Sylvania SilverStar ultra, Osram Night Breaker…). They last a bit less: replace them in pairs.
- Long life: made for high-mileage drivers or headlights that are hard to get to (Philips LongLife, Sylvania Basic, Osram Ultra Life).
- Whiter light: a cooler, xenon-like tone that stays street legal. They give up a little performance in rain and fog.
Torn between these lines? Our 9005 and H11 buying guide explains what you gain and what you give up with each one. Before switching to LED, check which LED headlight bulbs are street legal and under what conditions.

Frequently asked questions
What is a H11 bulb?
The H11 is a 55 W, 12 V automotive bulb with a PGJ19-2 base. It’s also sold as 64211 and 12362.
Is the H11 the same as the H11B?
No. Even if they look alike, each size has a different base (PGJ19-2 on the H11) and won’t fit another size’s socket. Always buy the exact size your car takes.
What vehicles use a H11 bulb?
Among others, the Chevrolet Equinox 2nd gen, Chevrolet Silverado 1500 GMT900, Chevrolet Silverado 1500 T1XX, Ford F-150 13th gen, Honda Accord 9th gen, Honda Civic 10th gen, Honda CR-V 5th gen and Nissan Altima L33. The full list, with the position each one uses it for, is on this page.
Can I replace a H11 with an LED?
Not in a headlight designed for halogen bulbs: in the US, LED retrofit bulbs in halogen headlamp housings are not DOT / FMVSS 108 compliant for on-road use and can cause glare or issues at a state inspection. For more light, choose a high-performance halogen.
